August 27th, 2020. The day of reckoning. Two strangers embarked on a life changing journey by accepting the new social norm, online dating. *GASP* If you want to know what powerful message Matt sent to start the conversation, you’re in for a good one. Some say romantic. The message read, “Do you know, Cam Olson?” Little did Claire know, Matt had already reached out to Cam to see if he knew who she was. Turns out, he did. Surely that would have been quite the twist in the story if Matt led with such a juicy line and Claire had no idea who Cam was, likely a conversation finisher. Nonetheless… That ladies and gentlemen, is Cam’s big claim to fame. I digress and let’s carry on. One of these strangers, also known as Claire, nearly bailed on the date because of her nerves and almost missed this opportunity for love. Through courage, friendship, and tequila, Claire made the right choice to go on the date which ultimately led her to saying yes to marriage. Ironically enough, her saying yes both times was rooted by tequila and the same friends, Carlie and Sara. There is a life lesson in here somewhere. When you combine tequila and friendship, life will present you with the right decisions. Their first date was at one of the finest establishments in Denver, Colorado called Little Machine Brewery. A great middle ground location incase the date would go poorly because the beer can be consumed quickly. Unbeknownst to both, the conversation took off and a connection was immediately formed. Both went to Colorado Mesa University, also known as the Harvard of the West. Both knew/had the same friends. Both had very similar interests. Both found enjoyment out of each others company. Life just has a funny way with timing. They could have been in the same room at one point, but life has a funny way of telling you when and where to meet. Fast forward to today. We are both blessed with tremendous friends and family. Both of us cherish each other and treasure the small moments, and both of us are so excited to be able to celebrate with each and every one of you in beautiful Sayulita, Mexico. Just remember the life lesson when you are down there, take the tequila shot. Life will present you with the correct decision.
