We have known of each other for our entire lives. We spent summers at the Devola Pool, attended the same church, and played soccer on the same fields. Kamden remembers seeing Claire at Vacation Bible School, while Claire remembers seeing Kamden with his broken arm at the pool one summer. Despite growing up around each other, our paths never truly crossed until freshman year of high school, when we had third-period study hall together. We became part of the same friend group, took similar classes, and gradually started spending more time together. During our sophomore year, COVID hit and school transitioned to online learning. Suddenly, we had a lot of free time on our hands. To fill the days, we started riding our bikes all over Devola, putting plenty of miles on them that spring and summer. One thing led to another, and Kamden asked Claire to be his girlfriend on a romantic date by the river, eating Qdoba. From going to homecomings and proms together to supporting each other's soccer careers, we made countless memories throughout high school and eventually graduated together. After graduation, Claire went to Fairmont State University while Kamden attended Marietta College. After his first year, Kamden decided to transfer to Fairmont State to be closer to Claire while she continued to play soccer. Kamden traveled all over West Virginia to watch Claire. During our senior year of college, Kamden asked Claire if she wanted to go to Coopers Rock State Forest to see the mountains covered in snow. Little did Claire know, he had something else planned. At the park's famous overlook, Kamden proposed! Of course, we had to celebrate our engagement with a trip to Chili's. From growing up in the same hometown to building a life together, our story has come full circle. We are so excited for this next chapter and feel incredibly lucky to celebrate it with the people who have been part of our journey.
