FAQs

Question

Where should I fly into?

Answer

We recommend flying into Montrose Regional Airport (MTJ). It's about a 1-1.25 hour drive to Ouray.

Question

Do I need a rental car?

Answer

Yes. Ouray is a small mountain town and having a car will give you flexibility to explore.

Question

Where should I stay?

Answer

We are not doing a hotel block. There are plenty of options including Airbnb, VRBO rentals, and local hotels. Book early, as June is a busy time in Ouray.

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

For the rehearsal happy hour, mountain chic attire is recommended. Ladies can wear a flowy midi or maxi dress or a skirt—heels and boots both work well. Gentlemen can wear a button-up with a sport coat or blazer—jeans are welcome, and boots or loafers work well. Think polished, comfortable, and mountain-inspired. For the wedding, black-tie optional attire is requested. Ladies can wear a long evening gown or an elegant formal dress. Gentlemen can wear a tuxedo or a dark suit and tie—tuxedos are welcome but not required. Mountain temperatures drop quickly after sunset (often into the 40s), so we recommend bringing a jacket or wrap to stay comfortable.

Question

What is the shuttle schedule for the wedding?

Answer

The shuttle will pick up guests from Ouray Brewery. Please arrive by 2:15 PM so we can depart on time at 2:30 PM. Guests will arrive at Gold Mountain Ranch at 3:00 PM for the ceremony, which begins at 3:30 PM. After the reception, the shuttle will depart the venue at 10:00 PM to bring guests back downtown.

Question

What should I know about the altitude?

Answer

Ouray sits at approximately 7,800 ft. Please hydrate, take it easy the first day, and allow time to acclimate.

Question

What can I do in Ouray?

Answer

See our Things to Do page for outdoor activities, relaxing spots, breweries, and downtown attractions.

Question
