Grant and I both played sports in junior college, and Grant's baseball team would infamously throw fun parties. My best friend Kait and I decided to go to their party because we had mutual friends on the team. As a group of us talked in the kitchen, Grant came in and walked right up to introduce himself. We ended up talking for the rest of the night. Before leaving for the night, I made Grant pinky promise to text me. He did, and a week later, we went on our first date.

A week after we meet, Grant picked me up for our first date which was sushi; my favorite. Without even knowing it, he already made the date perfect. When he came to pick me up, I remember sitting in my sister's room spying on him and showing her how cute Grant was as he walked to the door. We went to Shirasoni, a restaurant in Brentwood, which has amazing sushi. He probably thought I was crazy because I asked him a billion and ten questions and ate 4 sushi rolls to myself. We had so much fun and the conversation was easy. We drove around after dinner and talked for hours. It was the best first date. We then followed it up by going on three dates back to back.

I proposed to Claire in record time after our first date. It only took me six and a half years to know she was the one. I had major help from Colleen Hannigan, Claire's sister, as well as her parents Steve and Janet. Colleen made sure that everything was set in her parent's backyard, the location of the big question. Steve and Janet helped stall Claire while preparations were made. Claire miraculously said yes and we all enjoyed the big news together. It was great to be able to spend that moment with Claire's family.
