Yes! Of utmost importance is the health and safety of our guests, ourselves, and our vendors. But with the advent of the vaccines, warmer weather, and good health practices, we are happily and confidently moving forward with our indoor wedding. The state Capitol is only allowing 25 seated guests. That means most guests will be watching in the Gettysburg Ballroom at The Hilton to watch the live stream of the ceremony and we've hired a company to manage the video feed to ensure it runs smoothly. The wedding party and guests that are in the Capitol will then meet up with all guests at The Hilton to start the happy hour and reception. It will be great! We sent an email on May 9th about which venue you will be in to watch the ceremony. In the meantime, everyone stay safe and thank you all so much. We'll see you soon. The party will be worth the wait!
We suggest 4 pm for guests watching the ceremony live in the Capitol and for those watching via live stream in the Hilton. We are starting the wedding ceremony promptly at 4:30pm. Did you know that it is good luck to get married on the half hour?! With that in mind, we request that you get to either venue around 4 pm for an on time start. We sent an email on May 9th about which venue you will be in to watch the ceremony. If you are unsure where you are watching, let Abbie, Earl or Claire know! Thank you so much.
Yes, however on your individual invitation and RSVP, there will be information on how many seats we reserved for your party, and we respectfully ask that you honor that seating allocation. For example, if your partner cannot make it, but your child loves weddings and can, they can certainly come in your partner's place. Just shoot us a text or email if that is the case and we can make appropriate changes online. But hey, sometimes childcare is not possible to find, and you will need your children with you. If that happens, just send Earl, Claire or Abbie a text or email. We'll work it out. We just want you there.
We value being fully present and in the moment during such a special, once-in-a-lifetime event. We respectfully ask that you silence and also refrain from using your cell phone during the actual wedding ceremony once it begins if you will be watching in the Capitol building. We have an awesome camera crew, and they'll take care of capturing the memories in photos. The livestream will also be immortalized on You Tube. So be present with us during our wedding and our vows, but feel free to get those cameras out after Earl kisses his bride!
Yes! We encourage guests to post pictures, videos and more on to their social media, our only request is that you tag every photo and video with our wedding hashtag #GettinGriggyWithIt2021 so we can keep track of all of your pictures online! We will also provide a photo booth at the reception with props. Lots of props. Go crazy.
We would like to take a wedding group photo at the top of the Capitol steps, which will take some time. The reception is at The Harrisburg Hilton which is a short (7-10 minute) walk from the Main Rotunda at The Capitol. As such, we'd like to give our guests who will be heading over plenty of time to leisurely make their way to the Hilton. We will have ushers to lead the way. We will not be providing transportation to the reception. For guests at The Hilton already, either head outside for some fresh air, or head to the lobby bar in the meantime!
Yes! We will have a full open bar starting at cocktail hour with bride and groom signature drinks, and a champagne toast at dinner.
The date has passed, and was May 5th, 2021. If you have any changes or updates regarding coming to the wedding, that’s okay. We get it, we’re still in pandemic times. Just please email or text the bride and/or groom with your update as soon as possible! Thank you!
