Silver Lake (located right next to our venue) is one of our favorite spots. There is an easy, flat walking trail that takes you around the lake. Beautiful scenery without the challenge of longer hikes. There are a few longer hiking trails that branch off of the walking trail, if desired. Watch out for moose!
Lakes Mary, Martha, and Catherine are all accessible via a trail right from the Brighton Resort parking lot. Lake Mary is just over 1 mile from the parking lot, with the option of continuing up further to the second two lakes. The hike to Lake Mary is considered moderate.
YUM. Porcupine is one of our favorite spots for brunch, lunch, dinner, dessert, anything! Right at the mouth of Big Cottonwood Canyon, this is a great spot for indoor or outdoor dining. The nachos are to die for.
Up for more of a challenging hike? Lake Blanche is 3.5 miles up with 2,700 feet of elevation gain, but well-worth the hike. The round-trip 7 miles is one of Claire's favorites. The trailhead starts part way up Big Cottonwood Canyon.
Looking for a scenic drive? Emigration Canyon is one of the less-traveled canyons in the Salt Lake area. It is a beautiful drive up into the mountains, with the option of looping down via Little Dell Reservoir to Parley's Canyon, or continuing higher towards East Canyon State Park.
