Derrick was working for ATT, and came to install the WiFi in Claire's new apartment. Claire's mom (Diane) was with her, and immediately whispered to Claire how "cute" she thought Derrick was. The install took Derrick 15 minutes, but he made it seem like it wasn't working so that he could stay and talk to Claire for another TWO HOURS. Diane stayed in the back room with the cat, Cleo, the whole time…Talk about a wing woman! Derrick texted Claire a couple of days later to check and see if her WiFi was working, then asked if he could text her from his personal phone. The rest is history! On a spring day in March, after just a few short months of knowing each other, Derrick swore to Claire that he would marry her one day. A few years passed, a move to Desoto, a move to Affton and two dogs and a cat later... on a spring day in March, just like Derrick promised, he asked Claire to marry him. Derrick and Claire chose July 1st to get married because they love the romantic greenery that comes with the season. It's usually not too summer hot yet, but there's enough summer sunlight to make the day last longer. We can't wait to celebrate with all of our loved ones, see you July 1st!- Claire & Derrick
