Ferry tickets are now available for online purchase. It is HIGHLY recommended that you purchase your ferry tickets before your travel date to secure your preferred time. 1. Travel to Ceiba Ferry Terminal from the Airport: A taxi from San Juan Airport (SJU) to Ceiba takes about 1.5 hours (allow 2 hours to be safe) and costs $40-$70 one way. Uber is reliable for this route. Publico Vans are located outside baggage claim at SJU, these can carry 10-12 people and are an affordable group option. 2. Ceiba to Vieques Ferry: Ferries run several times a day. For the April schedule, visit: https://www.puertoricoferry.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/VIEQUES-APRIL.pdf. 3. Purchase tickets in advance at https://www.puertoricoferry.com/en/routes-schedules/ceiba-vieques/. Select your travel date and confirm the correct route (Ceiba to Vieques or reverse for return). Choose your travel time, add non-resident passengers, and select "Buy Now." Enter traveler information, include estimated luggage count in "Enhancements & Upgrades," and complete your purchase. Save your confirmation email for the scannable barcode. Printed copies are optional, but tickets may also be texted to your phone. The ferry ride is about 30-45 minutes. Booking Tips: Plan for about 2 hours to get from San Juan to Ceiba, especially in heavy traffic. Booking multiple ferry times as a backup is a smart idea since tickets are only $10. The ferry is stable, but if you’re prone to seasickness, sit in the middle seats or take medication beforehand. The ferry is the most affordable way to travel to Vieques and a fun option, though it may take 1-2 hours longer than other methods.
