St. Armands Circle is home to some interesting history. Home to more than 140 upscale boutiques, award-winning restaurants, posh art galleries, and more in an open-air European-inspired setting, St. Armands Circle is said to be the jewel of Sarasota.
The John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art
Check out The Ringling Museum, one of Sarasota’s most famous attractions. It was once the home of John and Mable Ringling, of Ringling Bros. Circus fame, and reflects their love of art, architecture, and entertaining. Today, you can explore impressive art galleries, tour their Venetian-style waterfront mansion (Ca’ d’Zan), stroll the beautiful bayfront gardens, and learn about Sarasota’s circus roots at the Circus Museum. It’s a great way to spend a relaxed afternoon and get a feel for the city’s history and charm.
Bobby Jones Golf Club
Play a round at Bobby Jones Golf Club, one of Sarasota’s most historic golf spots. Originally designed by legendary golf course architect Donald Ross, the course has been a local favorite since the 1920s and was named after the famed golfer Bobby Jones. Recently redesigned, it blends classic course design with a more modern, relaxed layout, making it a great option for golfers of all skill levels who want to experience a piece of Sarasota’s golfing history.
