We first noticed each other at our gym, Brazen Athletics, but didn't officially meet until January 18, 2019. Claire was out celebrating a friend's engagement over dinner, and Brian was grabbing a drink with the fellas. After dinner, the ladies went over to 10th & Willow - the same bar Brian chose! Claire walked through the door and immediately locked eyes with Brian. They "beelined" to each other and spent the rest of the night laughing, talking, and dancing. Brian offered to buy Claire a drink, but she only wanted water, so he ended up buying her friends drinks instead. At the end of the night, Brian asked for Claire's phone number and called to make sure she made it home safely. And the rest, as they say, is history!
Let us set the scene: Acadia National Park in mid-September. A crisp, yet sunny Fall day, surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean and mountains galore. Brian and Claire were looking for the Beehive Trail and completely missed the trailhead. They ended up on the rocks directly above the ocean, where Brian asked Claire to stand on a ledge for a photograph. When she turned around, he was down on one knee and asked her to marry him. She was so surprised that all she could say was "No Way!!" Thankfully, that wasn't her final answer, and they spent the rest of the week in engaged bliss exploring Acadia National Park and Portland, Maine.
While our original wedding and reception were scheduled for May 2021 in Chicago, plans changed. When it became clear it wasn't possible for all of our loved ones to be together, we realized getting married was what truly mattered. We had a beautiful, intimate ceremony on May 1, 2021 in Columbus Park in Hoboken followed by a luncheon at our favorite local Italian spot, Johnny Pepperoni's! Our immediate families were present, and we were able to celebrate with a few friends that night. We are beyond excited to share our joy - and crush it on the dance floor - with more of our loved ones in 2022!
