Travel Note
Cars and taxi services: Glasgow airport has all the usual rental car options. Remember to drive on the opposite side and no turning right on red! https://www.glasgowairport.com/at-the-airport/airport-services/car-hire/ Black cabs are reasonably priced. There are local taxi companies, too. Uber operates in Glasgow. If you have the app, it should work for you without issue. Trains and buses: Glasgow has overground trains and a subway, which Glaswegians affectionately call 'the Clockwork Orange.' The subway serves the inner city and West End. http://www.spt.co.uk/subway/ The overground trains take you further around the city, including to Claire's home in Bearsden (and to Edinburgh, in just 45 minutes). https://www.scotrail.co.uk/ Walking: Glasgow is a walk-friendly city, but it's also quite big, so prepare to use other means to get between neighborhoods.
