Our Love Story

Sometimes you've got to ditch the roommates...

Our story started at a New Year's Eve party in Bozeman as we rang in 2023. At the time I was seeing someone else, and Ben would go on to say that he thought I was pretty. Over the next year, we would run into each other around town and have great conversations about church, skiing, and life in general. I always felt so comfortable talking to him. Fast forward to February 2024, I was now single, we were both skiing with friends at Bridger Bowl, and I found myself sitting next to Ben on the chairlift every single time. It was a funny coincidence that I didn't think much of, but it led to us skiing together more often. Our "platonic" ski dates were filled with great conversation, and we always listened to the Turnpike Troubadours' "Long Drive Home" on the way back. Looking back, I should have known... Though no one that knows me too well is surprised I was blissfully unaware. So with a little encouragement from friends and a few closing day beers on the patio, I got the courage to text him that I had an extra ticket to the Montana State University rodeo that night, "What if we went to the rodeo, just me and you, without Colten?" (sorry, Colten) I'll never forget the nervous excitement I felt. Even after skiing with him all day, the first date jitters set in, and I overthought everything, worrying we wouldn't be able to go back to being friends if it didn't work out. Plot twist, it worked out! We quickly became official and continued seeing each other, spending the next year laughing, hiking, cooking, going on brewery dates, and traveling to meet each other's families. In July 2025, after a long hike in the Crazy Mountains, Ben popped the question. We were truck camping and he slipped the ring box into my sleeping bag. We had talked about a future together, but I was completely shocked as he had hinted at waiting until winter. Sneaky! He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him, and without hesitation, I said, "Yes, of course, I'm so confident in us!" Our love story continues as we plan a wedding to celebrate with our favorite people. We wouldn't be the people we are today without our faith in Jesus and your love stories. For that, we are so grateful!
