As all Gen-Z dating stories go, we started texting on Tinder and had our first date on March 1st! We spent 8 hours together on our first date. It included America's favorite activities such as Ashwin spilling risotto on his hoodie, Ashwin's tummy hurting at a dessert spot, and Claire asking Ashwin to do a compatibility exercise 6 hours into meeting.

As everyone knows, Claire cannot handle uncertainty. So Ashwin, with the help of Claire's mom, and one of her friends figured out a way to surprise her. He told her that he was treating her to dinner and dessert. He brought her to the same spots that they went on their first date on December 1st because it marked 9 months since their first date. With Ashwin's plan going surprisingly well, he told Claire that he's nervous about proposing and wanted to take a walk at Golden Gardens Beach (Claire's parents got engaged here!). The night was so clear that they stargazed and misidentified Orion's belt 7 times. On their way back to the car, Ashwin opened his trunk and asked the question, catching Claire completely off guard. With the stars twinkling and the smell of sea moss filling the air, she said yes and they've been happily engaged since! :)
