Things To Do

Bayview/ Friendly Valley Beach

Bayview Beach Road, WI 54891

Just minutes down the road from where we live! It is one of the most beautiful beaches in the Upper Midwest. We couldn't count the number of hours we have spent here if we tried. It's an uninterrupted 2 mile stretch of sandy beach that you can walk end to end... or take a dip if you're up for it!

Bayfield Area Trails

Bayfield, WI 54814

Spend some time outside during one of the most scenic times to visit the area. Bayfield Area Trails offers maps & information to help you see some of the places we love. We’re partial to the Big Ravine Trails, where we have foraged wild edibles, enjoyed quiet moments, and logged many miles.

Frog Bay Tribal National Park

92070 Frog Bay Road, Bayfield, WI 54814

The country’s first Tribal National Park has a scenic loop that we take throughout the year to observe the change each season brings and to savor in views of the Apostle Islands. Are you brave enough to take a dip in Lake Superior? This would be a swim you wouldn’t forget!

St. Peter's Dome/ Morgan Falls National Natural Area

Forest Road 199, Marengo, WI 54855

It might be 30 miles away but make your way to the top and you can see an expansive view of the Chequamegon Bay and even see Bayfield! Fall colors will be near their peak. This hike is 3.6 miles round trip and moderately difficult but the view never disappoints.

Copper Crow Distillery

37395 State Highway 13, Bayfield, WI 54814

Enjoy a craft cocktail amongst the towering pines at one of our favorite weekend stops. It’s the country’s first Native-owned distillery, just minutes from the reception!

Lost Apostle Brewing

206 West Bayfield Street, Washburn, WI 54891

Another new brewery that opened in Washburn in the spring of 2026, we have enjoyed coming here to nestle within the potted plants and sunny windows.

Clipper Brewing Company

208 Wilson Avenue, Bayfield, WI 54814

This new brewery is just blocks from the reception. It’s located atop the historic Bodin’s Fishery, a place we have become quite familiar with over the years!
