From the Groom’s Perspective…

How we met

How I met Kristine? More like how God brought Kristine to me. Long story short I felt called to go on my first mission trip this year and during our first meeting Kristine stood out to me because we both loved the Longhorns and I remember Kristine saying “Me and you are going to get along.” Also what caught my attention was that our testimonies were very similar. As time passed, one of our mutual friends, who I did not know knew Kristine, said to message her about how to get in contact with counseling since I was going through a rough patch. I contacted her and after I asked her, I feel like our conversation has never stopped. It was the opening to a new beginning. Fast forward a bit, I asked Kristine to coffee and on that date I knew she was the one for me.

Proposal Story

I planned to propose to Kristine in August, but I couldn’t wait any longer. I wanted to call her my fiancé so I decided to do it on June 5 my birthday. I thought this day would work out perfectly because I got to see all my family and Kristine was going to be with me all day. I decided to kill two birds with one stone and I asked her dad for his blessing on the same day, 2 hours before I proposed. On the drive to downtown Fort Worth, I was super nervous I remember commenting on how beautiful the clouds were. When we got closer to downtown, I asked her to respond to Pohlmann (the mutual friend) and say thank you for the birthday wish, that indicated we were close to downtown. When we arrived we walked around Sundance square got coffee at Starbucks. Then we happened to run into Pohlmann down at the square - what a coincidence. So since it was Kristine's first time downtown Pohlmann asked if we wanted to go to a roof to see the view. On the way there I texted Castillo so he and the photographer could hide. We got to the roof and I proposed. Castillo came out with a bottle of wine and a Daisy bouquet with babies breath.

For all the days along the way
