We’re getting married!

CJ and Lilli met in high school. Lilli had a huge crush on CJ for about a year before they actually started dating at the end of 11th grade. The first time Lilli hung out with CJ, Lilli's mom (Joanne) insisted she "must meet this boy's parents." So Lilli's mom and CJ's mom (Heather) meet, and then Heather ends up getting Joanne a job at her preschool! If that wasn't embarrassing enough, freakin' Joanne told Heather that Lilli had a crush on CJ, as if Heather wasn't going to tell her son that tidbit of information.

In short, Lilli told CJ she really liked the song "I Will Follow You" by Ricky Nelson, and Lilli used to drink a coca-cola every day after school. So CJ used his mom's scrapbooking supplies to make a trail of hearts and scrapbook pages with lyrics from the song. When Lilli entered the house "I Will Follow You" was playing, and she followed the trail to see CJ sitting with a bottle of coke that said, "Will you follow me to prom."

In 2020 Lilli started her PhD program at Harvard which meant Lilli and CJ had to move to Boston. They loaded up their old Honda Accord and drove across the country (with Rosie of course) to their first home!

In December of 2021 CJ finally popped the question at Lilli's favorite beach in Coronado. It was about damn time.
