Our first date was at Crossroads (a west side staple) for dinner and then back to CJ's house to hang out. Some of our friends tagged along since it was our "first date." As soon as we sat down at dinner, we clicked instantly and had the best time together! A few weeks after our first date, he officially asked me to be his girlfriend. Two years after we started dating, CJ left for Bellarmine University in Louisville, KY, which is where a majority of our weekends were spent following his games. To this day, I always say that long distance is what made us who we are today and I wouldn't have it any other way. We have met some great friends and have made memories to last a lifetime. Louisville will always be a special place to us.
What I thought was going to be a night out downtown at the Banks with some friends, turned out to the best best night EVER! We had a dinner planned with CJ's brother, sister-in-law and their two little girls at Condado Tacos on the Banks and then we were going to meet up with some friends afterwards. After dinner was over, we walked down by the river to get some pictures of Riley & McKenna (CJ's nieces) and that is when he proposed. Afterwards, we met at my parent's house where there was a HUGE surprise party with all of our best family and friends there to celebrate with us. It truly was the best night, EVER!
