Best Man
CJ first met Matt when he was in 5th grade, while he was on a weekend camping trip with the local Boy Scout troop. Matt helped CJ and the other younger campers with cooking and campsite setup. Matt has been helping and looking out for CJ ever since. Matt and CJ both went to Sherwood high school and carpooled to school each morning. They both had leadership roles in the troop and at the local Boy Scout camp. They've made many great stories over the years and when they reunite it feels like no time has passed.
Maid of Honor
Despite what their dad would say was ample “bickering” in the first 18 years of their friendship, Becky and Jenna are lucky enough to be those sisters who actually are best friends. Just like when they were little, they still do almost everything together, especially now that they live in the same state again. These days they still love playing games together, co-piloting for each other on long drives, sharing food, and still occasionally matching each other.
Groomsman
CJ's younger brother of three years, Shawn and CJ have shared lifelong interests in baseball, gaming, camping & scoutcraft, and more. Shawn has always been supportive of CJ and Becky, helping them with their numerous coastal moves, and visiting wherever they lived. After CJ moved away for many years for work, the two now live less than a mile apart and can spend time together more easily than ever.
Bridesmaid
Erica and Becky were randomly paired together when they both worked at the admissions office in college, but that little quirk of fate turned out to be a friendship that stood the test of time. Erica and Becky ended up next-door neighbors for their last year at college, which was also the first year Becky and CJ lived together. You could often find one in the others apartment like when Erica took naps in Becky’s place, or when Becky hid in Erica’s apartment to avoid the spiders at hers. Regardless, these neighbors for a year are now friends for life.
Groomsman
Nick and CJ met through the Boy Scout troop. They bonded over activities in the troop, their shared interest in symphonic band, and the rivalry between Sherwood and Magruder high schools. Nick was a mentor to CJ (and to many other young Scouts, despite their roughhousing), and they spent time together on many camping trips and many visits to the Starbucks in Olney. Even as Nick shipped out with the US Army and as he started his own family, Nick called nearly every month to stay in touch.
Bridesmaid
Liz lived across from Becky in college freshman year and they soon became fast friends. Over the years, Liz has always been one of Becky's biggest cheerleaders, never missing an open mic night, theatre performance, or a chance to help with the little things (like plugging in Becky's phone for her). Despite the geographical distance in the years since, Becky and Liz's friendship has made more and more sense as the seeds that brought them together in college have bloomed.
Groomsman
Ed and CJ met as Freshman at the University of Delaware, hitting it off as early as Convocation Day at the Bob Carpenter Center. They lived in the same dorm, and both studied Chemcial Engineering. They had a lot of shared suffering in courses like Thermodynamics and Organic Chemistry. CJ & Ed became roommates as Juniors and Seniors and made many great memories with their other UD friends.
Bridesmaid
Jaclyn was another freshman floormate of Becky's, and they lived together junior year. Being housemates came with its challenges (like when the oil didn't get delivered one month and they woke up to a freezing home), but it also brought these two friends closer than ever. So many times a simple goodnight turned into a long discussion about one of their many shared interests, a post on reddit, or just catching up on their lives. These days the simple goodnights are fewer, but the mutual interest and openness in their relationship has grown even more with time.
Groomsman
Darren and CJ overlapped at Boston-based startup company GreenLight BioSciences from 2018-2020. They worked together in Downstream Process Development on their early RNA program. Darren's keen scientific mind and hard work ethic amidst the stressful project environment inspired CJ to learn more and be a better scientist. They've kept in touch even after going their separate ways in their careers, enjoying visits to breweries in the Boston area.
Bridesmaid
Melissa and Becky met in freshman year as well, and while their relationship started on the freshman floor, it quickly broke out of those four walls. The two of them could be found together occasionally in the gym or bopping around a sport like intramural soccer. Beyond a great player, Melissa has always been a great teammate, looking out to make sure everyone is having a good time. These days Becky and Melissa don't share as many sports, but they still frequently gather to play games together---only these days its Dungeons and Dragons. The two both live in the DC metro area and love hosting each other back and forth, hopefully forever!

Kelly and CJ met while CJ was living in Boston, playing games online like Fortnite and Pokemon, until 2am on some nights. Kelly lived in WV at the time, so when CJ was moving back to MD they had the chance to become "in real life" friends. Their passion for gaming is still shared, but now they can share other interests such as drinking wine and going to Escape Rooms.
Bridesmaid (from afar)
When Becky first moved to Boston, she didn’t know anyone, nor did she know where to start. Luckily, she found a fast and fabulous friend at work in Sylvia. Becky loved exploring Boston with Sylvia, and the two of them always knew they would have an excited concert buddy in the other. Sylvia's joy is infectious, and the two celebrated many a birthday, engagement, and grad-school acceptance together. Becky is overjoyed for Sylvia's latest celebration as she prepares to welcome her first child---a daughter---in a few short weeks. Sylvia is celebrating Becky and CJ from afar but will always be close at heart.
