Yes! The reception and ceremony will take place at the Incarnation Center in Deep River, Connecticut. The ceremony will be held at the lower building: a beautiful open air chapel located on a picturesque pond with a forest and mountains as a backdrop. The reception will be held in the upper building: a newly-finished, beautiful wooden building with views of the forest, pond, and mountainside.
Our ceremony will be held down 32 stairs. If you are unable to make it down the stairs, we will have a shuttle available to you that will drive you down to the ceremony location. At the end of the ceremony, the shuttle will deliver you back up to the reception hall!
Our ceremony will begin at 3:30 PM sharp. In order to make sure that all of our guests are able to find the correct buildings (the venue is a bit confusing!), have time to make their way from the parking area, and are seated comfortably, we recommend that you arrive around 3:00 PM.
No. We will be having an unplugged ceremony, which means that we ask everyone to turn off & put away their cell phones and cameras. Please do not use your cell phone, camera, or any other device to take photos during the ceremony (but take as many as you want at the reception!). We have hired a wonderful photographer who will be capturing our day (you can see some of her amazing work in the "Gallery" tab), so we ask that you put away the devices and be present with us as we celebrate our marriage.
No. Due to the extremely limited capacity of the venue and the adult nature of our event, we ask that you please leave your kiddos at home. Time to enjoy a night out!
No. We will be having a dry wedding. Immediately following the ceremony, we will have "coffee hour" rather than a traditional "cocktail hour." And at our reception, we will have plenty of sparkling cider and fun mocktails to go around!
For dinner, we will serve a buffet of options from our favorite restaurant: Mama Teresa's in Milford, CT. We will have vegetarian and vegan options available, but please let us know if you have any other dietary restrictions.
We invite you to join us in attire that is comfortable for you. Please keep in mind that the wedding is in October and the ceremony will be outside, where it may be a bit chilly. Please also keep in mind that we will be on gravel and grass, so stilettos may not be your best option!
DUE TO THE LIMITED CAPACITY FOR PARKING AT THE INCARNATION CENTER, WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU CARPOOL AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. Parking at the Incarnation Center is a bit confusing, but we will have signs along the way to help you out. If the weather is sunny, we ask that you park on the field in front of the reception building. If it is raining, you must park along the driveway.
Yes! All we ask is that you don't take photos during our ceremony. Other than that, become a photographer to you heart's content and post whatever you'd like on your social media.
We do not have a hotel block. However, if you visit the "Travel" tab, you will find some local recommended hotels. But, we always recommend Air B&B as some of the most quaint places can be found there!
We will get married rain or shine! The outdoor chapel is fully covered by a large roof, so we will not be impacted by any rain. In the event of rain, we will have umbrellas available for the walk back up to the reception building. If it rains on our wedding day, we ask that you not park on the grassy field across from the reception building, but rather alongside the driveway.
The driveway into the Incarnation Center is very narrow and winding, and can be quite confusing. The reception building is 3/4 mile drive from the road, and we will have signs posted regularly along the driveway to guide you.
