FAQs

Question

Attire

Answer

··· Welcome Party | Casual ··· Come as you are! We know a lot of guests are traveling to Barbados on Thursday so there is no required dress code on Thursday night. It’s a casual beach bar so toss on something comfortable and join us for canapés (light bites) and drinks! ··· Ceremony & Reception | Coastal Chic ··· The ceremony will take place outside on the grass, so we recommend light, breathable, seaside-friendly fabrics and planning your footwear accordingly. For the gentleman, pants and short or long-sleeved button up shirts are requested. Jackets and/or ties are always welcome but not required. For the ladies, dresses of any length, skirts, jumpsuits, etc. are all great options. ··· Catamaran | Beach Day ··· Grab your swim trunks, and your flippie-floppies. This day is relaxed and easy - toss on a cover up and get ready to set sail.

Question

Weather

Answer

Barbados is warm year-round, with average temperatures for May ranging from 75–88°F. Evenings are warm but breezy. It is the last month of the dry season and short-lived showers may happen from time to time. The ceremony is outdoors (weather permitting) but will be moved under cover if necessary.

Question

Currency

Answer

The Barbadian Dollar (BBD) is the primary currency on the island, although USD is widely accepted (note, USD must not contain any tears, marks or rips of any kind). The exchange rate is 2 BBD to 1 USD. ATMs and Banks are nearby, and most restaurants and other establishments generally accept major credit cards (please check to see that your CC does not charge a foreign transaction fee). We recommend keeping a small amount of cash for taxis, tips, etc.

Question

Transportation

Answer

··· Wedding Festivities ··· Transportation will be provided for the ceremony and reception on Friday, as well as the boat day on Saturday. On Friday (Wedding Day), shuttles will depart from Beach View starting at 3:30pm arriving at Fairmont Royal Pavilion around 4:00pm. Following the ceremony, shuttles will take guests to QP Bistro for the reception and party. QP Bistro is located across the street from Beach View and is an easy walk (or stumble) home. For guests with accommodations elsewhere, we will help arrange a car for you. On Saturday (Boat Day), shuttles will depart from Beach View at 10:00am and head to the marina. After the boat trip, transportation back to Beach View will be provided or you are welcome to go explore if you're not quite ready for the party to end. For guests staying elsewhere, we will help arrange a car for you. ··· Getting Around the Island ··· There are plenty of taxis and buses that frequent the main roads and are a cheap and authentic way to travel to where you want to go. Note, please plan to bring cash (BBD or USD) for payment. ··· To/From the Airport ··· If you're staying at Beach View, you have the option to add an airport transfer directly to your stay for $60 each way (price is for 1-3 people). We highly recommended this option! To make arrangements, please reach out to Beach View directly prior to or during your stay.
