We first met Sophomore year of high school. I recall seeing Cinthya for the first time in the quad of Mira Loma and saying to myself, "I'm going to date that girl!" However, my confidence quickly evaporated once I was confronted with actually talking to her. I remember avoiding her handshake due to my sweaty nervous hands, coupled with the struggle of keeping my legs from collapsing beneath me. After one of the most awkward encounters of my life, I lost all faith in my dreams of dating Cinthya. It wasn't until Senior year when she truly noticed me while playing in a football game and decided to congratulate me afterwards. While the team recovered from the loss of the game, I was focused on the fact she had spoken to me. At this point, I realized my dream once again became a possibility. I asked Cinthya on our first date to BJ's Brewhouse and a couple of months later, on December 12, 2015, I asked her to be my girlfriend. The rest is yet to come...
We headed to San Francisco for a weekend getaway! On the last day, before heading home, Matt made a pitstop at Pacifica Beach. This beach holds a special place in our hearts as it was one of our first out-of-town dates. We love ordering a Baja Blast and Crunch Wrap from the famous oceanside Taco Bell Cantina and sitting at the beach while enjoying the cool ocean breeze. On January 3, 2021, we followed tradition but this time it was a bit different. We walked down to the shore at 3:28pm. Matt got down on one knee, pulled out a ring and asked, "Will you marry me?". So...I RAN! I was so nervous my instinct was to flee. Of course, I came back and said YES to the most amazing man! I can't imagine my life with anyone else.
