Dicen que algunas historias comienzan mucho antes de que dos personas se conozcan. Hay encuentros que parecen casualidad, pero en realidad son destino. Nuestra historia inició hace cuatro años, en una hermosa boda llena de música, risas y alegría. Nuestras miradas se cruzaron por primera vez y, sin saberlo, ahí comenzó todo. Fue el destino el que nos unió y nos permitió platicar como si el tiempo se hubiera detenido solo para nosotros. Conversamos como si nos conociéramos de toda la vida, las risas surgieron con naturalidad y, antes de despedirnos, intercambiamos nuestras redes sociales sin imaginar que ese pequeño gesto sería el inicio de algo mucho más grande: nuestra propia historia de amor. Con el paso del tiempo, nos mantuvimos en contacto. Los mensajes se volvieron parte de nuestra vida diaria; después llegaron las llamadas, las salidas y las conversaciones cada vez más especiales. José vivía en Palmdale y yo en el sur central de Los Ángeles, y aunque la distancia nos hizo dudar, pronto entendimos que cada encuentro valía la pena. Las citas se volvieron momentos esperados, las despedidas, cada vez más difíciles, y nuestras miradas comenzaron a decir más que las palabras. Sin darnos cuenta, nuestras vidas se entrelazaron. Las risas, las aventuras y los sueños compartidos nos dieron la tranquilidad de sentirnos bien juntos. Los momentos simples se volvieron inolvidables y así descubrimos el amor que estaba naciendo entre nosotros. Fue entonces cuando decidimos dar el siguiente paso y comenzar nuestra relación. Pero el amor también pone pruebas. La vida llevó a José a mudarse al estado de Kansas y con ello surgió una decisión difícil. Sabíamos que la distancia no sería fácil y, con el corazón roto, decidimos separarnos, pensando que era lo más correcto… aunque, en el fondo, ninguno de los dos quería decir adiós. Durante ese tiempo, la vida siguió su curso, pero el recuerdo nunca desapareció. A veces hablábamos para saber del otro, para reconectar aunque fuera por un momento. No fue fácil. Hubo silencios, nostalgia y dudas. Por momentos pensamos que nuestra historia había llegado a su fin, mientras intentábamos seguir adelante, aunque los recuerdos seguían presentes. Hasta que un día entendimos que la vida tiene una forma especial de mostrarnos lo que realmente importa. El amor seguía ahí, a pesar de la distancia. Ni el tiempo ni los kilómetros pudieron cambiar lo que sentíamos. Comprendimos que lo nuestro no era pasajero, sino algo por lo que valía la pena luchar. Decidimos volver a intentarlo, apostar nuevamente por nuestro amor y por los sueños que habíamos construido juntos. Lo que antes parecía incierto se convirtió en una decisión llena de esperanza: seguir adelante, juntos. Así, paso a paso, llegamos hasta aquí. Hoy seguimos caminando juntos, con la certeza de que cada obstáculo nos trajo exactamente al lugar donde debemos estar. Hoy, con el corazón lleno de amor, ilusión y gratitud, estamos listos para decir “sí” y comenzar la aventura más importante de nuestras vidas: una vida en matrimonio. They say that some stories begin long before two people ever meet. There are encounters that seem like mere coincidences, but are, in reality, destiny. Our story began four years ago at a beautiful wedding filled with music, laughter, and joy. Our eyes met for the first time, and—without realizing it—that is where it all began. It was destiny that brought us together, allowing us to talk as if time itself had stood still just for us. We conversed as if we had known each other our entire lives; laughter came naturally, and before saying our goodbyes, we exchanged social media handles—never imagining that this small gesture would mark the beginning of something far greater: our very own love story. As time went by, we stayed in touch. Messages became a part of our daily lives; then came the phone calls, the dates, and conversations that grew increasingly special. José lived in Palmdale, and I lived in south-central Los Angeles, and although the distance made us doubt, we soon understood that every meeting was worth it. Our dates became eagerly anticipated moments, our goodbyes grew harder and harder, and our eyes began to speak louder than words. Without even realizing it, our lives had become intertwined. The laughter, the adventures, and the dreams we shared gave us a sense of peace—the comfort of simply feeling *right* together. Simple moments became unforgettable memories, and in this way, we discovered the love that was blossoming between us. It was then that we decided to take the next step and officially begin our relationship. But love also puts you to the test. Life led José to move to Kansas, and with that came a difficult decision. We knew that the distance would not be easy, and—with broken hearts—we decided to part ways, believing it was the right thing to do... even though, deep down, neither of us wanted to say goodbye. During that time, life went on, yet the memories never faded. Occasionally, we would talk just to check in on one another—to reconnect, if only for a moment. It wasn't easy. There were silences, nostalgia, and doubts. At times, we thought our story had reached its end as we tried to move forward—even though the memories remained ever-present. Until one day, we realized that life has a special way of showing us what truly matters. Love was still there, despite the distance. Neither time nor miles could change what we felt. We understood that what we shared was not fleeting, but rather something worth fighting for. We decided to try again—to take a chance once more on our love and on the dreams we had built together. What once seemed uncertain transformed into a decision filled with hope: to move forward, together. And so, step by step, we have arrived at this moment. Today, we continue walking side by side, with the certainty that every obstacle has led us exactly to where we are meant to be. Today, with our hearts overflowing with love, joy, and gratitude, we are ready to say "I do" and embark on the greatest adventure of our lives: a life in marriage.
