Our story began about 5 years ago when both Scott and Cindy moved to the City of Pittsburgh to start nursing school at Duquesne University. This southern boy was moving up to the frozen tundra (Pittsburgh), for what he thought would only be one year. While this Jersey girl was moving one state over looking for an adventure! It all started one night when we went out with our nursing school friends and Scott walked into Cindy’s apartment before going out and didn’t even introduce himself. But after hanging out with the same group of friends in nursing school, we got to know each other. We began studying together, braving the cold and walking to class together and enduring the craziness of our nursing program. Fast forward a year and we have graduated nursing school and the Jersey girl convinced the Florida boy to stay a little bit longer in the ‘Burgh. Shortly after graduation we moved into an apartment together. That when Cindy started to work on convincing Scott to adopt a dog. It only took a few months to get him on board, and we traveled to Ohio to pick up our first pup, Roxie. Following a long cold winter and it snowing on Scott’s birthday in late April we decided to move down to sunny South Florida. Once again Cindy started to work on convincing Scott to adopt another dog. During the craziness that was 2020 we managed to make it one of our best years as a couple, starting out with Scott caving and getting our second pup, Buddy. In June of 2020 we bought our first house together. We finished the year with a bang when Scott planned a trip to Key West, FL. On the first night of our trip at sunset, on the beautiful Fort Zachary Taylor State Park, Scott dropped down to one knee and proposed. Instead of saying yes or no all Cindy could say was “is this real?” It was in fact real and she eventually got the words out and said YES! After our special moment we hope to share another one with all our family and friends when we tie the knot in March of next year.
