Cindy first met Luc in middle school where he witnessed a dodgeball being thrown at her. This would not be the last time that he would find her striking. They then became part of a large group of friends in high school, which became a smaller group in college and even smaller post graduation. As teenagers they were very different people. Luc had always had very strong worth ethic, spending his time studying geology(fitting as time would soon tell) and at work. Cindy was perusing many extracurricular activities balancing that with being in different circles of friends and eventually moved away to PA school. After being friends for over a decade, climbing became the spark that brought Cindy and Luc closer together. In 2021, Cindy got into indoor climbing and became a regular member at her local gym. She would often return to Seattle to visit family and friends, and during these visits, she and Luc would regularly go climbing together. At that time, Luc was only a casual climber, but he loved the time they spent together. Motivated by their shared activity, he committed to a membership and eagerly anticipated each of Cindy's visits. As a year passed and pandemic restrictions were lifted, Luc began visiting Cindy in San Francisco on several occasions. Sensing a shift in their relationship, Cindy confronted Luc about his intentions. After some time for reflection and therapy, Luc took a leap of faith and moved to San Francisco to be with Cindy in person. They started dating in 2023 and cherished every moment of their new relationship. They enjoyed everything from sharing meals, going to church, and watching Luc attempt skiing for the first time (and falling), to, of course, climbing together. After praying about it, discussing their goals and values and seeking support from friends and family, they decided to get married. And it was the best decision ever
