Because we are both busy people there are not many opportunities to meet others, so..... we met on line like so many others. Neither of us will forget the first time we saw each other. The first thing that caught my eye was his smile and blue eyes! He said the first thing that caught his eyes was my legs oh and my green eyes! All that know me know that for my height I have some long legs! We had dinner and amazing conversation that was so easy. Afterwards we had a couple of beers and 2 hours later had to part. The absolutely sweetest thing...he asked if he could kiss me! The absolute sweetest thing that I will never forget!
One spring day we were working out in the yard, and I was looking my best! lol As we are working, I see something in the yard. It looked like a firecracker box. Doug said to pick it up and I said NO! He said, what if the lawn guy dropped it yesterday. I carefully picked it up and it was wrapped in Bahamian money. I thought that was weird. He told me to open it which I did and found an amazing ring inside. I said, "on no, he dropped a box with a ring". Doug laughed and said, "no silly, that is for you". He said I looked at him confused. We had talked and agreed that we did not want to get married again! It was the start of the pandemic and things were really crazy. He said no one knows what the future holds, but I know I want to spend it with you. Again, the sweetest. As this was going on two cyclists pulled up at the end of the driveway. They asked, did you just get engaged? I looked at Doug, (I hadn't answered him yet) and said YES! They clapped and said hooray!! While it wasn't a usual proposal, it was perfect just like him...
There was never a question about where we would get married. We both love the beach. The sand, the waves, the sound the calmness that it brings. It is a place where we are both at peace. So of course, we are getting married at the beach.
