We're getting married!

We overlapped during our years at Harvard, but we actually met at a teaching conference in Shanghai in August 2017. We both love traveling and jumped at the opportunity to get a free trip to China. My best friend and maid of honor, Shirley, was one of the conference directors and saw the potential of our budding relationship so she actually abandoned us at a movie theater for our unofficial first date. When we got back to the States, Charles asked me out after our official first date at Castle Island in Boston on 9.10.2017 and the rest is history!

Charles proposed at the Beavertail State Park in Jamestown on 1.5.2025. He originally planned to propose at the Castle Hill Lighthouse in Newport but found out it was closed about 15 minutes beforehand so the proposal became a surprise to Charles too!
