Andrew and Cindy met in 2008 at NYU through mutual friends. They hung out plenty throughout the years at school events and off-campus shenanigans. Then in 2010 they bumped into each other when Andrew was supposed to grab lunch with someone else. His friend couldn't make it, so they had lunch together instead. They kept randomly hanging out just the two of them. Lunches turned into dinners until one day they realized something had changed between them and they haven't looked back since.
In 2019 Cindy and Andrew were invited to a wedding in California the same week as Cindy's 30th birthday. They decided to make a big trip out of it - LA, Venice Beach, Santa Monica, and Disneyland. Cindy loves a good view with a sunset so one day Andrew suggested visiting Griffith Observatory during golden hour. It was California, but still October so Andrew insisted they bring their jackets (he needed to hide the ring box somewhere). They walked around the area and wandered off on a trail overlooking the city and nature all at once. As they sat and took in the view (after a run-in with some bees that threatened to derail the whole plan), Andrew pulled out the most perfect ring and Cindy said "yes" a million times through happy tears.
Cindy and Andrew originally wanted to celebrate their wedding during summer 2021. They had every intention to start wedding planning in March 2020, but COVID had other plans. With the world shut down and gatherings not happening, they had to postpone their plans. However, just because they couldn't have the big party didn't mean they couldn't get married. The pandemic couldn't stop their love, so in a small (semi-secret) ceremony in the courtyard of their building, they made it official. Now, we're excited to celebrate our love story with all of you!
