Stephen and I met thanks to two special friends and the help of divine timing. We both were visiting respective friends' 4th of July pool party in the same 30-minute window. Stephen approached me first and we discovered he was moving into a building that I currently lived in. Within two weeks, we lived on the same floor. Between running into each other in the hallways, garages, and at the pool, we soon realized we couldn’t stay apart from each other for long - and we were okay with that. The photo at the top of the page shows the spot where we met. The same spot where he eventually proposed.
4 years went by in the blink of an eye and by 2021, Stephen and I were living together in the exact building where we met. What was supposed to be Friday night cocktails on the rooftop turned into the best surprise of my life. I was greeted not only by Stephen, but by friends and family from 6 different states. You can't see it in the photos, but we were also surrounded by two rainbows in the sky as he lowered himself to one knee. With both Stephen and my family surrounding us, I said yes.
Charleston is not a city where we had a lot of history as a couple before choosing it for our wedding, but we are certain it holds a lot of our future. We are so blessed to have friends and family from all over the country, and we think Charleston will be the perfect spot for you all to meet and receive the joy we hope to share with you on our wedding weekend. Travel is also important to us as a couple, so a destination wedding that is still accessible to all generations was a natural decision. As we've gotten to spend more time in Charleston planning for our wedding, we are confident you will fall in love with its charm and beauty.
In our books, Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) will forevermore be known as "Cinco de Lallo" in reference to our married name, DeLallo. While Cinco de Mayo is generally associated with tacos and margaritas, you can expect our "Cinco DeLallo" wedding weekend to be associated with all things Stephen and Letty. For all the Cinco de Mayo enthusiasts: Don't worry, there will still be margaritas available.
