We met online on a queer dating app called “HER”. We talked for what felt like months (two weeks), before Cierra asked Kristen on a date. Our first date was in Prospect Park in Brooklyn, NY. We had a picnic and talked about anything and everything. We shared our first kiss, immediately got rained on and had a night full of pasta and good wine. The date ended with Netflix and the rest was history.
We got back to our newer home in Washington after a family cruise. The next day, we classically went on a hike in the Olympic National Forest. We reached the view, a weaving waterfall, and sat down to rest on the rocks. Kristen turned it into a kneel, told Cierra she loved her, and asked 'will you marry me?'. Cierra thought she was joking. She asked, several times, 'are you for real?' though building excitement and tears. Cierra said yes! Kristen dug through the backpack for the ring she'd been carrying for a month and placed it on Cierra’s finger. We excitedly hurried back to the car searching for cell service along the way to tell everyone we knew our big news!
