How We Met

Brandon and I met on a crisp April evening. The night was young and filled with music and dancing. I was looking for a dancing partner when a mutual friend of ours suggested Brandon. He'll tell you that I was mean to him when we first met but I was just checking his dancing abilities (I didn't want my toes getting stepped on). He happened to be the best (and last) dance partner I've ever had! Then, like Houdini, he slipped out without even saying goodbye...

Our First Date

Although time had passed since the night we met, I never forgot about that dance. Lucky for me, I happened to run into our mutual friend and asked him to pass along my number to Brandon. We got to talking and finally set up an official date. We decided on sushi and Dave and Busters (who doesn't love playing arcade games). We had such good conversation at the restaurant! We were those annoying people who needed "a couple more minutes" to look at the menu multiple times. After dinner, the real fun began. I knew Brandon was the one when he didn't let me win at air hockey. I love a good competition. Best part of the date is when we were sitting at the bar and a gentleman asked if we'd like a picture together. We took one and he came back with two keychains with that picture on them. We still have them and will never forget our first date!

The Proposal

Around Christmas time, we usually take a family trip and so we planned a cabin getaway to Flagstaff. Brandon surprised me by flying in my mom and dad to join us on our little vacation! We were also celebrating Brandon's grandmothers birthday while we were there. Everyone was gathered in the living room so Grandma could open her presents. When she got to the last one she said it was addressed to someone else and handed it to me. I was extremely confused at this point but just thought it might be an early Christmas gift. I opened it to find a personalized photo book. I was told I had to look at all the pages. Inside were pictures of me from childhood to current times. At the end was a very well written poem. At this point I had an idea of what was going on. When I got to the end of them poem, Brandon was on one knee and asked me to marry him. I obviously said yes! So many happy tears! I can't wait to marry the man of my dreams!!
