Things To Do

Welcome Guests! We are thrilled you’ll be joining us in beautiful Syracuse for our 2027 wedding celebration. This historic corner of Sicily offers an incredible backdrop filled with ancient wonders and timeless charm. Syracuse is one of the most important cities of the ancient Mediterranean. Founded by Greek colonists in 734 BC, it became a powerful rival to Athens and Carthage. At its peak, it was one of the largest and wealthiest Greek cities, home to Archimedes. Ortigia, the original settlement, remains the historic heart. You’ll see layers of history: Greek temples turned into churches, Roman ruins, Byzantine and Arab influences, plus magnificent Baroque architecture rebuilt after the 1693 earthquake. Today, stroll through 2,700 years of history from the massive Greek Theatre in Neapolis Archaeological Park to the grand Cathedral in Piazza del Duomo (built over a 5th-century BC Temple of Athena). This rich heritage makes Syracuse and Ortigia truly special for our celebration.
