How We Met

Invisible String

Ciara and Hayden met, as most Gen-Z couples do, through social media. Ciara "slid into" Hayden's DM's during Christmas break of her sophomore year of college when Hayden happened to be spending four months in Chile. Ciara and Hayden had known of each other through mutual friends and had been at many of the same places at the same time. Whether it was kayaking competitions, high school graduations, or just different hang-out spots on the Payette river, Ciara and Hayden were in the same place at the same time but never met. Ciara and Hayden spoke 24/7 from the moment the DM went through. Despite a four-hour time difference (Ciara in Moscow, ID for college and Hayden in Pucon, Chile kayaking) they became extremely good friends. That following spring, Ciara went back home for spring break and Hayden was home from his travels. This happened to be spring break of 2020 when at the time the country shut down due to the COVID-19 pandemic. University of Idaho went to a fully online school and Hayden couldn't travel. Ciara and Hayden were able to spend an unlimited amount of time together due to the restrictions of the pandemic. Their relationship blossomed from a close friendship to a romantic relationship and it has been history ever since. The invisible string theory is the idea that everyone is connected to someone by an unbreakable string that transcends time, distance, and geography. Ciara and Hayden started their relationship in a modern conventional way but were limited by time and distance. They believe it was fate that brought them together at the time it did despite their many previous potential encounters. The invisible string theory is how they would describe the blossoming of their relationship knowing now that people are destined to be together and that love is not limited by time or space.
