We were not able to visit this winery on our trip to Lucca this Spring, but it is the most famous winery in Lucca and highly recommended. It is about a 10 min walk from Fattoria Mansi Bernardini!
A Day in Lucca! We highly recommend visiting the beautiful city of Lucca. It is located just about 15 mins from the wedding villa. Known for its charming streets, historic wall, and classic Tuscan atmosphere, it's perfect for wandering, bike riding, shopping, and enjoying a leisurely meal or aperitivo. Parking is available right outside the city wall if you plan to drive.
A Coastal Day in Forte dei Marmi If you're hoping to spend some time by the coast, Forte dei Marmi is a beautiful seaside town we visited during our trip and absolutely loved it. Known for its elegant beach clubs, upscale atmosphere, and designer shopping, it's a great option for a relaxing day along the water. The town is also filled with wonderful restaurants and fresh seafood. Our favorite restaurant was The Fratellini's and we'll definitely be going back!
When we visited Italy in April, we discovered a charming pasta factory in Lari that quickly became one of our favorite stops in Tuscany! Guests can usually do a quick tour of the factory and purchase their pasta at the gift shop. Lari is about 30 mins from Pisa and makes for a perfect quick visit or a great way to kill some time before or after flights. Everything is close together, easy to explore, and full of classic Tuscan charm. We ate at Bar Centrale Osteria Bistrot when we visited and the amatriciana pasta was the best pasta we had our whole trip!
San Gimignano is a little bit further but a really fun day trip if you have a car and some time! Known for its historic stone towers, charming streets, and INCREDIBLE countryside views, it feels like stepping into a postcard. It is a wonderful place to spend the afternoon wandering through the town learning about its history, shopping and enjoying wine or gelato.. or both! Our favorite restaurants were Ristorante Sosta Sulla Francigena San Gimignano & Ristorante Bel Soggiorno. Both have an amazing view! Also home to "The World's Most Famous Gelato" at Gelateria Dondoli.
We do recommend visiting the Tower of Pisa! It was really cool to see in person and walk up. Personally, the rest of the city did not spark our interest.
