If you are on LBI and you have some extra time we would recommend going to Barnegat Lighthouse. You can see the lighthouse, find a place to eat, hike the trails, and a favorite is to walk to the end of the rock jetti. This is an Icon of LBI.
The Wharf or the Ship is a popular place to visit in LBI. There is shopping, eateries, golfing, etc. It was common to just walk or bike down here from "The Shore House."
If you don't come to our rehearsal dinner...or our reception...then stop by the Chicken or the Egg, a.k.a. the Chegg for something to eat. It is a local favorite, especially for those late night outings. Also...FYI...it was the egg. The causality dilemma is now solved as the egg came first..laid by something..that wasn't yet a chicken..you're welcome!
Go to this location and head east until you hit water and you will find the beach. This is Cian's home beach where he would spend countless hours surfing, skim boarding, kayaking, pulling a sailboat across the beach into the water, etc. He spent countless summers here with his grandmother and cousins. 5-2 is the local call sign for the beach patrol designating this beach. So if you want to visit the "Number 1 Beach in America", per Cian, then go to beach 5-2 and enjoy!
This is the bay beach where Krista runs the Lifeguard In Training program out of. There is a great playground for young kids, as well as a designated swimming area. If you enjoy kayaking or stand-up paddling, or have never tried either but have always been interested, you are able to do hourly rentals. There are public showers and restrooms if you need a place to clean up, along with a pavilion with picnic tables if you would like to sit and watch the sunset over the bay.
