Emeka and Racquel met on December 8, 2019 at Identity Lounge, where Racquel was celebrating her LSBF’s birthday. Having a great time, working up a sweat on the dance floor, Racquel noticed this fine, dark skinned brother eyeing her from across the room. Emeka confidently approached her, placed his hand at the fold of her sweaty back and began spitting game. With the loud music, she could barely hear him, so she began to observe him closely starting with his smile, down to his turtleneck, pea coat and Chelsea boot combo. He could dress AND he met the height requirements. Ding ding ding!! We may have a winner. Later that night they exchanged information and discovered they lived in the same apartment complex. This was way too convenient, considering the world was merely 3 months from a complete lock-down. Hellooooo COVID. 
 Though our love for each other was/is strong, there were storms and some crazy roller coaster rides (shout out to family and friends who were there to support during those tumultuous times). Parenthood. NICU stays. Two under two. We experienced the crushing and the shaking; the pruning and the breaking, BUT GOD was there every step of the way. God used trials and tribulations to break us, and build us up in His image. He taught us so much about the true meaning of love. Corinthians 13 became something we had to learn to live by, especially walking into this next chapter of our lives. Marriage!
