Amador County is known for its wine, especially it's Zinfandels and Barbera. Casino Mine Ranch and Helwig is two of our favorite wineries, but there are so many to choose from in the Shenandoah Valley. I provided the link so you can browse yourself.
Visit Downtown Sutter Creek
Sutter Creek's Main Street has 8 wine tasting rooms, several restaurants, boutique shops, and art galleries in walking distance.
Visit Downtown Amador City
Amador City’s Main Street offers a handful of tasting rooms, restaurants, boutique shops, and art galleries. For those who’d like a little exercise, there’s also a great walking loop nearby: start on Amador Creek Road, continue onto Turner Road, then follow String Bean Alley and it will bring you right back to Main Street.

American fare with amazing drinks (limited hours, so check their website first) Choc-o-Latte – Cozy spot for coffee and treats Foothill Kitchen Provisions-Another great spot for coffee in Amador City Church and Main-A bit of a drive, but really good coffee, breakfast, and sandwiches Lunch & Dinner: Element – American cuisine Imperial Hotel – Our favorite!!! American fare with amazing drinks (limited hours, so check their website first) Rosa’s Cocina – Mexican Sutter Hotel – American cuisine and a lively spot for drinks, with a speakeasy downstairs called the Copper Room. Gold Dust Pizza –Delicious pizza and you can enjoy your pizza sitting outside next to the creek. Moonrise Pizza – Another good pizza spot in Amador City
Black Chasm Cavern
Located in Volcano, CA, Black Chasm Cavern is a National Natural Landmark known for its stunning crystal formations, underground lakes, and guided walking tours. It’s a unique spot to explore if you’re looking for a fun local adventure. I linked the website.
Kirkwood or South Lake Tahoe
Since it’s Memorial Day and a holiday weekend for many, consider heading up to the Sierra Nevadas to enjoy hiking, rafting, paddleboarding, or relaxing on the beaches of Lake Tahoe.
