Five years ago, we were married quietly at a courthouse outside our first duty station in Jacksonville, North Carolina — just the two of us, exactly on our own time. We had met at a gym years earlier, became fast friends, and eventually something deeper took root. Our first date came nearly a year after meeting, at a skydiving ranch not far from where we would one day celebrate again. Since then, life has unfolded beautifully: two duty stations, two children, and a whole lot of learning, love, and laughter along the way.
