Our story begins like most love stories do with today’s dating technology a 😉 on MATCH.com. We started communicating in February 2009. Christy lived in Monterey, CA and Mehmet in Newport Beach we were miles apart but knew that soon we both would be living in Orange County in the beginning of summer and eventually meet. Then one day Christy went MIA for 3 months and Mehmet gave up. What Mehmet did not know is that Christy had become very ill and fell into a coma until he received a phone call from her in the beginning of September 2009. Of course, "Christy had a lot of explaining to do" (in a Rick Ricardo voice) but the most important part was that they were finally both living in the same COUNTY, and after several phone calls and long talks they decide to finally meet and went on their first date. On September 19, 2009 Mehmet and Christy met for the first-time face to face at Panini Café in Corona Del Mar for lunch. Our lunch was brief but sweet and left us both wanting to get to know each other more. Now we can’t say it was like a true fairy tale love story since that first date. We encountered several trials and tribulations that typically occurs with a couple with two different pasts start dating in their 40’s. But through it all love prevailed, and 10 years later we are ready to make it official. We both know how lucky we are to have each other in our lives but we also know that we are so very lucky to have the family and close friends that have been there with us through our love story.
