For nearly two years, Jonathan and Christy lived less than a mile from each other. Their neighborhoods were so close, yet their paths never crossed. They like to think it was divine timing, that God was keeping their first encounter special, reserved for just the right moment. That moment came in 2021. They found themselves playing supporting roles in a beautiful love story—just not their own, not yet anyway. Christy had been friends with the bride for a couple of years, while Jonathan had a friendship with the groom that traced back to kindergarten. Fate—or rather, their shared belief in God's plan for their lives—placed them in that setting, not as each other's partners, but close enough for a chance to connect. Amidst the laughter and the clinking of glasses at the rehearsal dinner, they struck up a conversation that flowed effortlessly. The wedding followed suit; their exchanges were casual and filled with laughter. Yet, the evening wrapped up without an exchange of numbers. Christy did not want to let the budding connection slip through the cracks, so she turned to a modern approach to give God's plan a little nudge. She tracked Jonathan down—which honestly wasn't as '007' as it sounds—and made the first move by sliding into his DMs. From there, nightly phone calls became a marathon of shared stories, tender moments of vulnerability and laughter, lasting into the early hours of the morning...day after day. The throes of the pandemic had thrown traditional dating out the window. Their first official date rolled out in the safety and comfort of Jonathan's living room, with "Coming to America 2" setting the backdrop of their beginning. From that moment, it seemed impossible to think about a day without seeing each other. It was all in God's perfect timing, those years spent unknowingly so close to each other were simply His way of setting the stage. Once they met, it became clear this was His plan all along: they were meant to be together. From that point, the idea of being apart simply did not exist; they were, quite literally, inseparable. Now, here they are, ready to embrace the future together. Every conversation and heartfelt moment was a step on the path that has brought them to the start of their forever.
