Celebrating 50 Years of Love and Togetherness

The connection between our parents began through a family friend, the late Mama Veronica Iwuaba, who played a significant role in bringing them together. In Nigerian culture, it is often a cherished tradition for partners to be introduced through friends or family, particularly during that era. Our parents first met at our mom's house in Okwudor in 1973, which marked the beginning of their relationship. Over time, their bond grew as they courted each other, nurturing a deep connection built on mutual respect and affection. Their commitment culminated in their marriage on August 16, 1975, at St. Fabian’s Catholic Church in Umuahia, officiated by Rev. Fr. Hilary Odili Okeke, who is now a Bishop Emeritus of Nnewi. This occasion was a celebration of their love and marked the start of their journey together as partners, where they shared countless experiences and created treasured memories. Together, they raised six beautiful children and welcomed 17 amazing grandchildren into their family, establishing a legacy of love that continues to flourish with each new generation. They worked together through challenges to nurture and grow their family. Their dedication and commitment have earned them a deep love and respect from those around them. They embody self-love and mutual support in their relationship. This foundation allows them to uplift each other and foster a healthy, nurturing environment for their family. Their ability to appreciate themselves while supporting one another contributes to the strength of their bond. Additionally, our parents have a strong Catholic faith that guides their lives and shapes their values. Their beliefs influence their relationship and commitment to one another. As members of the Knights of St. John International, they participate in community service and charitable activities, fostering connections within the community and enhancing their roles as leaders and mentors. This involvement also offers them a support network and opportunities to serve others, contributing to their faith and family relationships.
