Covid 19 Update

The health and safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are sticking to our original date, but unfortunately we've had to cut down our guest list. You should have received either an invite or a change of plans card in the mail. Under the FAQ section of our website, you can see more information on how we plan to keep our guests safe during our wedding ceremony and reception.

How We Met

2/4/09

We had grown up in the same town, but went to different elementary and middle schools so we never knew who the other person was. We did, however, both go to Lake Norman High School together. Our freshman year I cheered and he played football, but we didn't meet until after football season ended. We actually met through Myspace. Yes, you read that right. I sent Davis a friend request thinking that he was someone else and he responded with a message. His first words to me were... (are you ready for this?)... "Do I know you?". We started messaging back and forth from there. Our first date was a double date at my friend (now bridesmaid!) Cady's house. We had a double date movie night in their bonus room. I will never forget how awkward he was, he didn't even hug me goodbye that night. If you ask him though, he claims he didn't know it was a date. Since we were only freshman in high school, our parents had to drive us back and forth from each other's houses until we got our driver's licenses. This means that Davis' mom and sister watched our first kiss on my front porch from their car in the driveway. We were young and so awkward, but hey we made it! After 11 years of dating, going to different schools, and living in different cities, we're getting married!

The Proposal

Davis proposed to me in Cabo San Lucas! We were celebrating our ten year anniversary together. He took me to this beautiful outdoor cliffside restaurant called Mona Lisa where we had a great view of the sunset over the ridge. I had a feeling that he was going to propose and all dinner long and I had been waiting for it to happen. I was beginning to think that maybe it wasn't going to. Once dinner was over, he walked me to a deck on the side of the restaurant so that we would have a little more privacy. One second we were staring out at the ocean and next thing I knew, he got down on one knee and popped the question!
