Hotel
Closest recommended hotel to the venue. This is a beautiful hotel in Olde Towne Portsmouth right on the Elizabeth River waterfront. It overlooks the BAE shipyards and Waterside Norfolk. It's not far from the venue hosting our ceremony - about 3 miles. At the time of this posting we are in the process of reserving a hotel block for our out-of-town guests. There are other options you might consider too such as Airbnb or Vrbo. We look forward to seeing all of you and celebrating our special day!
Travel Note
This is the little town we call home! Some of the oldest homes and buildings are here in Olde Towne. Take a stroll through the streets where you'll find many of the historic homes from the early 1800s and even one dating back to 1735 in the Swimming Pointe neighborhood where we regularly walk our dogs. On Saturday mornings there is a Farmer's Market that starts at 9 a.m. and runs year-round. The Renassaince Hotel is in the heart of Olde Towne!

Beautiful hotel and rooftop deck overlooking the Elizabeth River. You can walk to Waterside and take the ferry across the river to Portsmouth. If you take the ferry over and catch a Uber/Lyft to the venue the last ferry from Portsmouth to Norfolk is at 7 p.m. due to winter schedule being in effect.

Flight
This will be the closest airport to us. You might find more affordable flights in and out of Richmond, Virginia but keep in mind it will be a 2 hour drive. If you are considering the Colonial Williamsburg experience (highly recommended for you history buffs), flying through Richmond would be a great option because that airport is just over an hour from Colonial Williamsburg. We've listed this as one of our "Places" so check it out.

Richmond International Airport (RIC) is a two-hour drive to Portsmouth. Travel Note
At this time of year Virginia Beach is getting into sleepy mode but the weather is usually pretty nice. Hotels are usually much more affordable but keep in mind that the oceanfront is about a 40 minute drive from the wedding venue.
Travel Note
"The Story of our Nation Begins in Colonial Williamsburg" For those of you who are planning on coming to our wedding, we highly recommend a day trip here either before or after the wedding. Maybe plan on visiting here in the morning after the wedding and booking an afternoon flight out of Richmond International Airport. Check out this link for a description and overview of Colonial Williamsburg. It really is a must see, especially during this time of year in the fall. https://www.colonialwilliamsburg.org/discover/
