We had one of our first dates at Filoli Gardens and have wonderful memories of it. Filoli is beautiful in April.

Winchester Mystery House

Don't miss the opportunity to tour the mysterious Winchester House! Santana Row and Westfield Valley Fair are nearby high end shopping districts with amazing restaurants. A few of our favorite restaurants in these malls are: Ramen Nagi, Uncle Tetsu (Japanese cheesecake), and Eataly (gelato on the 1st floor and two restaurants on the 3rd floor).

Muir Woods National Monument

Muir Woods is our favorite hike to see the famous California Redwood Trees. The main 1 mile trail is paved with a wooden platform and easily accessible for all skill level. Reservations must be made in advance. Take time before or after to go to the beach nearby!

Take a (wildflower) hike!

There are SO MANY beautiful wildflower trails all along the bay area and April is the perfect month to see them. The best regions to view the wildflowers change seasonally so search online for where blooms have been spotted this season! The Sunol region tends to have consistent blooms each season as well as nearby wineries that are worth a visit.

Mission Peak Trailhead - Ohlone College

If you're up for a challenge then test your endurance at the Mission Peak trail! Don't forget to snap a picture at the marker on the top of the trail to prove your bravery!

Go Wine Tasting!

If you're unable to make the nearby trip to Napa or Sonoma, no worries! The south bay has plenty of local wineries worth the visit! The mountainous regions of Sunol/Fremont/Livermore (notably Nella Terra and Big Dog) as well as the Los Gatos/Saratoga/Santa Cruz Mountains (notably Perrucci, Testarossa, Picchetti, and Regale) are saturated with amazing local wine.

Take a day trip!

It's never boring living in northern California! Some nearby trips worth taking a day or two of your travels are: San Francisco, Santa Cruz, Monterrey, Carmel by the Sea, Yosemite, Napa, Sonoma, and Lake Tahoe.

Stan's Donut Shop

Don't underestimate this mom and pop donut shop, they may not look like much from the outside but they make the absolute best donuts we have ever eaten. You may be tempted to try a variety of donuts but we recommend sticking to their most famous recipe: the plain glaze. Make sure to arrive before opening time if stopping by on a weekend and bring cash! They tend to run out of plain glaze donuts by mid day on weekends and are a cash only establishment.
