Chris and I met in Toledo in July of 2013 while working at a direct marketing company selling AT&T Uverse door-to-door. We spent a lot of time together at this company because there were work events almost every day of the week. As Chris and I got to know each other we became very good friends. After getting to know each other, we began to feel a spark. On January 6, 2014 (my birthday) there was a level 3 snow emergency. Chris sent me a text asking if I wanted to go out and "sling some Uverse" as we called it. I said sure, so I drove out to pick him up and we went out to make a sale or two. It was very cold that day, I am pretty sure we both had about 4-5 layers of clothes on. After we were out for about 3 hours, we decided to stop for the day and go get some dinner. We went out to Chipotle, and Chris, being the gentleman he is, bought my dinner for my birthday. After that, we began to spend even more time together, and the rest is history.
On January 6, 2018 Chris told me he had a surprise planned for me for my birthday. We went downtown to fountain square and got some dinner and drinks, and then he told me we had to go. I was completely clueless. We began walking in the cold and I kept telling him to slow down because I was wearing heels. We began to get closer to our destination and I began seeing lots of people. I still had no idea where we were going. We walked up to this building and I asked Chris again what we were doing, he said we were going to see a Cyclones game. (Cincinnati’s hockey team) I was pretty excited because I enjoy a good hockey game. When we got in the arena I kept asking to see the tickets and he wouldn’t let me. Then we went up an elevator and began walking down a long carpeted hallway. We finally got to a door and he opened it, the lights went out. As they were introducing the hockey team I could sort of make out some people and realized my family was there! I was freaking out and so excited to see my family on my birthday! No one had ever thrown me a surprise party before! After the lights came on Chris began to thank everyone for coming down, but that wasn’t all! He got down on one knee and asked me if I would spend the rest of my life with him. And, of course, I said yes!
