Chris was a single dad of three: Jareth (17), Veronica (9), and Aidan (4). Sandra was a single mother of one: Alex (12). From the moment they met, something told them that this time would be different. They went to Ru Sans Sushi Bar & Grille for their first date and saw the film "The Revenant". Chris knew Sandra was the one when he turned on 80's music on the radio and she began to sing along. The song they sang together? “She’s Like the Wind."
In November of 2017, Sandra told Chris some very big news: they were expecting! Overwhelmed with excitement, they knew that this new addition to the family would mean so much more than just having a bigger family. This little tie-breaker, as there were 2 boys and 2 girls, would be the connecting piece that would officially link these two families together. And on July 21, 2018, little Isabela Maria Waldrop broke the tie (girls win!), and the Waldrop's and the King's were joined together forever.
After almost 3 years, Chris decided the perfect time to propose to Sandra. In front of the most important people in their lives, their children, he made that Christmas Eve morning one of the most unforgettable ones. As Sandra opened her last gift, an empty box full of wrapping tissue, Chris got down on one knee and said: “I love doing everything with you and I love doing nothing with you. And I want to continue to do that for the rest of my life. Will you marry me?” He held out a beautiful one-karat diamond ring on a rose-gold band and, without hesitation, and with tears of joy filling her eyes, she said “YES!”
