Answer

We have compiled a list of activities and events that you can enjoy the weekend of the wedding. Details along with further information about activities around Baltimore can be found under the "Things To Do" tab of this website. We hope you enjoy your stay in Bmore!

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Our wedding dress code is black tie optional/formal attire. For women, this means a floor-length gown, fancy cocktail dress, or a dressy pantsuit. For men, you have the option to go with traditional black tie menswear or a formal suit (black, navy, dark grey, etc.). We can't wait to see you dress to impress!

Question

What is the best way to get to the wedding ceremony and reception?

Answer

We know that most of our guests are from out of town and will be staying in the hotel blocks we have reserved. To make transportation on our wedding day easier, we have coordinated a shuttle service to take guests from the reserved hotels to the Basilica and the Baltimore Museum of Art. Details on the shuttle service and transportation can be found under the "Travel" tab of this website.

Question

Where should I stay in Baltimore?

Answer

Due to the large anticipated number of guests from out of state, we have reserved several hotel blocks for Friday and Saturday night. Information on hotels can be found under the "Travel" tab of this website. If you prefer to stay in an Airbnb, there are a number of great options available in Baltimore. We recommend the Fells Point, Canton, Little Italy, and Locust Point neighborhoods (we have linked some potential options in the Travel section).

Question

Are you registered? Where?

Answer

We have two registries. The first one is the Zola registry which you can view directly on this website. The second is at Crate & Barrel (https://www.talkable.com/x/XEgs74). You can access both of them from the "Registry" tab.

Question

Will the ceremony include a Mass?

Answer

Yes, our ceremony includes a full Catholic Mass. Regardless of religion, all are welcome and we would love to have each of you there. Please feel free to join in the singing and the celebration of Mass in however you see fit. In keeping with Catholic tradition, we ask that if you are not a practicing Catholic in good standing that you abstain for taking Holy Communion. However, Father Brendan will be more than happy to provide you with a blessing!

Question

I am not a practicing Catholic in good standing, what should I do during the portion of Mass that includes Holy Communion?

Answer

In accordance with Catholic tradition, Holy Communion is reserved for those who are Catholic and in good standing. If you are not a practicing Catholic, you can either remain sitting/kneeling in your pew or you can receive a blessing. To do this, join the line and cross your arms over your chest as you approach Father Brendan. He will know not to give you Communion and then will instead bless you by performing the sign of the cross.

Question

I have not been to a Catholic mass and/or are not Catholic, are what is the etiquette for the ceremony?

Answer

As Catholics, we joyfully welcome people of all faiths and backgrounds to attend our liturgy and participate in our worship, but there are a few guidelines that might be helpful for a visitor to be conscious of. These guidelines are intended to help you understand how to best respect the sacredness of the Catholic Mass and respect the beliefs of others.
