WE’RE GETTING MARRIED!!!!

Nissi: My relationship with Christopher started with me needing help with my car. At the school we were attending, there were not a lot of locals.But I could tell he was local: There’s something about home-grown Texas men. Especially the ones that speak their mind. You never have to guess what they are thinking. The first time we spoke face to face, something inside of me said, You can trust him. For the first few months, while we were still in the process of deciding what we wanted, I fought an internal battle over that initial confidence.   But, after our first big fight, I realized something that I had never experienced before in a relationship: He stayed. Despitemy epic shouting tirades, bitterness and insecurities from my past, he didn’t leave. For a year and a half, we experienced loss, death, pandemic, and separation…together. All of that. Together. Snowstorms, depression, anxiety. All together There is no one else that I want to hold my hand through the craziness of life than my big old teddy bear.   Christopher: We are living God’s story. Our past is not our story. What Godwas showing Nissi about me while we were at school together is a testimony to the goodness of Jesus. Even our first fight. I think it’s a good story.  People may wonder what it like helping Nissi?  Sure, it’s a pain sometimes. Any relationship takes sacrifice. Overall, its love. Caring more about her than I care about myself. That’s what a healthy relationship looks like.  So I will continue to do whatever I can to love and serve Nissi as Holy Spirit continues writing our story.
