Nicole had been off of online dating for years and swore she would never get back on it because of all the catfish (that is, fake profiles) and inappropriate things men would say; Christopher was looking for a woman of depth and he, too, was tired of all the fake romances… One afternoon Nicole was having a really bad day and was so discouraged that she decided to waste time and reactivate her Facebook dating profile. Even though she had been looking for “him” most of her life, this time she decided to share that on her profile: “Looking for the man God has planned for me.” Within a matter of a couple hours, Christopher messaged Nicole and told her that her profile lifted his spirit and wrote a very thoughtful paragraph. Nicole checked his profile and saw that not only did he checkmark the box that he’s a Christian, as many of the other inappropriate men had, but he wrote about it in his profile, which is what she had been looking for: “I’m a God-fearing man.” Nicole replied saying that she really appreciated his message. In Christopher’s next reply, he told Nicole, “Wouldn’t it be crazy if we went to church on our first date?” Nicole didn’t think it was crazy at all and in fact, the perfect date. But, she agreed with him for humor reasons, and they planned a date for the very next day, Sunday morning. They were to meet at Bayside Church in Roseville, a large church they had both attended for years without knowing it. Their first date lasted over 8 hours! On it, they felt such a connection; it was so very easy to talk with one another. Christopher held Nicole’s face in his hands as they sat across a small table at Panera Bread, something Nicole had always wanted, but never had. They spoke of marrying one another by the end of the night. Nicole told Christopher he would have to ask for her hand in marriage from her godfather, to which he agreed. She told him of things she never had, but always wanted… and now, a little over 2 years later, Christopher’s beautiful heart has lovingly fulfilled it all.
