Hike up the El Tepozteco pyramid for panoramic views, explore local artisan shops or enjoy the towns lively cafes and restaurants. Be sure to check out the artisan market on Sunday! Tlayacapan
Tlayacapan is a designated "Pueblo Mágico" just 30 minutes of the Hacienda. It is known for its rich cultural heritage, artisan traditions, and historic monastery. Recommended things to do: Ex Convento de San Juan Bautista, artisan markets, hike an hour to "El Tlatoani" archaeological zone, which sits atop a mountain. These magnificent pyramids include the iconic Pyramid of the Sun, the Pyramid of the Moon, and the Temple of the Feathered Serpent, which are connected by the main thoroughfare known as the Avenue of the Dead. Buy tickets in advance, explore hot air balloon tours to see the pyramids in a unique way, and consider doing a guided tour to learn the most about the pyramids!
