On April 22nd, 2022, we hiked eleven miles round trip up a snowy mountain peak in the Adirondack Mountain Reserve to exchange rings, vows, and signatures in front of a few brave witnesses. There was rain, snow, and sleet, and when it mattered most the storm took an uncharacteristic calm to cast a little sunshine through the clouds. Our ten-year journey together started on the peak of Mauna Kea on the Big Island of Hawaii. We shared some of our most treasured memories on high peaks in Montana and below the surface on coral reefs, in cities big and small, and on many a trail along the way. A few short years ago, we were engaged atop a massive fallen tree in Olympic National Forest in Washington state. It was only fair of us to take the next leap of faith together in an extreme and personal experience that we've both dreamed of for years. Although many weren't there, we are excited to share these moments with you. In the coming months, we look forward to seeing each of you and celebrating in various places and in informal and impromptu ways. For now, we love you. Stay safe. Wash your hands. Be good to each other. - Mr. and Mrs. Vitale.
